And yes, it's a little evil; what isn't. But considering it's: a) opt-in b) rich with extra features for those who do opt-in c) opt-in d) not visible to paid or permanent accounts e) opt-in f) opt-in and g) opt-in, it's significantly better than many advertising policies that splash ads everywhere.
